Introduction
This article provides a detailed overview of how tokens work in the Moli web app. Tokens are essential for monitoring active wind lidar campaigns, and understanding how they function will help you manage your campaigns efficiently.
Why is this important?
Knowing how tokens are utilized and managed ensures that your lidar campaigns run smoothly without interruptions. It helps you plan your monitoring activities and budget effectively, ensuring continuous data processing and campaign management.
Token Types
There are two types of tokens in Moli:
- Subscription Tokens (Expiring)
- Valid for one month.
- Renewed automatically at the beginning of each subscription period.
- Used first for active campaigns.
- Unused tokens expire at the end of the subscription month.
- Pay-as-You-Go Tokens (Non-Expiring)
- Purchased separately and do not expire.
- Used automatically when subscription tokens for the month are used up.
- Can be purchased in advance to secure long-term flexibility.
Token Usage
- Token Cost: One token is required for a month of monitoring one active campaign.
- Active Campaign Definition: An active campaign is one where data has been uploaded via drag-and-drop in the app, email, or SFTP server. This data can be current or historical.
- Billing Start: Billing starts only when data upload begins, allowing you to configure your campaign in advance without being charged.
- Token Priority: Subscription tokens are used first. If your subscription balance runs out, available pay-as-you-go tokens will be used automatically.
Examples of Token Usage
- Example 1: If you upload data on June 5th, 2024, from a campaign that started in March 2023, one token will be used. You can continue uploading data until July 4th, 2024.
- Example 2: If data upload starts on January 31st, the next token will be used on the last day of the next month, such as February 28th/29th, then March 31st, and April 30th.
- Example 3: If you have 10 subscription tokens and run 12 active campaigns, all 10 subscription tokens will be used, and 2 pay-as-you-go tokens will automatically cover the remaining campaigns.
